Our Sport Pathway is the third key document within our Manifesto, and it highlights our belief that while the FIA belongs to its members, sport belongs to everyone. We have a strong Vision-to-Action plan to support every level, from grassroots up to the highest international competitions. Essentially, we believe that the FIA should:

  • Create value for clubs, organisers, competitors and fans
  • Build clear talent pathways from grassroots to world stage
  • Protect integrity and credibility in all championships
  • Use motorsport as a global platform for sustainability and innovation
  • Feed growth through strategic investment

The difference is this: under FIA Forward, vision does not wait. It empowers the clubs with a plan you can run tomorrow.

What this means in practice is sport represents culture and identity. Motorsport is more than competition; it unites nations, drives innovation, and inspires youth. Integrity is non-negotiable - officiating and resulting decisions must be transparent, fair, and principled. There should be accessible pathways, motorsport must be open to all, not just the wealthy few. We also believe that innovation with purpose is key. Motorsport must lead in climate action, technology, and inclusion. Finally, and importantly, member value must come first: every regulation, event, and investment must create value for FIA clubs.

To deliver on these principles, the Sport Pathway is built around five pillars of action:

  • Empower grassroots & regional sport
  • Strengthen international championships
  • Invest in global talent systems
  • Champion FIA values through sport
  • Rebuild trust in international sport

These are the foundations of the FIA Forward Sport Pathway, and you can find full details on this and more on our website.

What and where is next?

I recently spent a few, extremely busy days in South America visiting our member clubs in Chile, Bolivia and Argentina. The welcome was warm in each country and the topography is individually spectacular, but my visit further reinforced FIA Forward’s opinion that the FIA needs to provide unique solutions to each region’s unique challenges, whether those are in sport or mobility.

We need to be a trusted partner to promoters, teams, drivers and suppliers so that motorsport events such as regional rallying can be supported and can grow. We need to drastically cut costs, the complexity of the regulations, and change the culture of the FIA to be a service to our member clubs and not a tax.

This week I’ll be in Europe and then I’m heading to the Far East to meet up with many more of our stakeholders and member clubs because, together, we can take the FIA forward.
